What does the Waterproofed Fitbit Charge HR track?

The Waterproofed Fitbit Charge 2 tracks your heart rate, steps taken, distance traveled, active minutes, calories burned, and how long and how well you sleep. In addition to tracking your stats, the Charge 2 also features a clock and silent alarm, and GPS connectivity. *Please Note: To completely waterproof the Charge 2, the altimeter has been sealed which can result in an imprecise "floors climbed" measurement but will not affect other stats and readings.

Does the Waterproofed Fitbit Charge 2 track my swimming laps?

The Waterproofed Fitbit Charge 2 will log your general activity in the pool as steps taken and calories burned. It was not designed to specifically count or track swimming laps or give a completely accurate reading of activity in the water.

Why does my Waterproofed Fitbit Charge 2 look exactly the same as a regular non-waterproofed Fitbit Charge 2?

Why does the altimeter on my Waterproofed Fitbit Charge 2 not work?

To completely waterproof the Fitbit Charge 2 and maintain the most accurate readings, the ability to measure air pressure and count floors climbed through the altimeter has been removed.

How do I sync new data from my Waterproofed Fitbit Charge 2 to my computer?

Your Fitbit tracker will automatically sync through your computer every 15 minutes or so if the following requirements are met:

  1. There is new data to upload
  2. Your computer is powered on, awake, and connected to the Internet
  3. Your plugged in wireless sync dongle is inserted into a working USB port
  4. Fitbit Connect is installed and running
  5. Your tracker is within 15-20 feet of your computer

To see when the most recent sync occurred, click the gear icon at the top-right of your dashboard.

If you sync your tracker with your computer and also with a mobile device that uses Bluetooth (such as an iOS device running the Fitbit app for iOS), your tracker will not sync with your computer unless you move the mobile device out of range or disable Bluetooth.

How do I charge my Waterproofed Fitbit Charge 2?

  1. Remove the Charge 2 from your wrist.
  2. CLip the Charge 2 band into the cradle of the charging cable. Be sure to line up the pins in the cradle with the contacts on the beack of the tracker
  3. Plug the charging cable into a USB port or UL-certified USB wall charger.
  4. The screen will brielfy show your current battery level. A full charge takes about 3 hours.

How long does my Waterproofed Fitbit Charge 2 battery last when it's fully charged?

The battery should last up to five days when fully charged with normal use. It's not unusual for the battery to last around 2 days when actively used or many of the features are engaged. When charging, the Screen will indicate battery level. The screen displays a full battery when completely charged.

How does the Waterproofed Fitbit Charge 2 track my heart rate?

When your heart beats, your capillaries expand and contract based on blood volume changes. PurePulseā„¢ LED lights on your tracker reflect onto the skin to detect blood volume changes and finely tuned algorithms are applied to measure heart rate automatically and continuously.

How does the Waterproofed Fitbit Charge 2 track my sleep?

Your Waterproofed Fitbit Charge 2 tracks sleep automatically. Simply wear your device to bed. When your tracker syncs with your account, you will be able to view your sleep stats on the dashboard.

How do I receive call notifications on my Waterproofed Fitbit Charge 2?

  1. Make sure that your mobile device is compatible with our notifications feature by visiting fitbit.com/devices.
  2. On your mobile device, make sure Bluetooth is enabled.
  3. Put your tracker within 20 feet (6 meters) of your mobile device for the rest of the setup process. Note that you'll only receive notifications on your tracker when your mobile device is within this radius.
  4. Open the Fitbit app on your mobile device and tap your tracker tile at the top of your mobile dashboard.
  5. Tap your tracker tile a second time, tap Notifications, and then turn on call notifications.
  6. Follow the onscreen instructions to connect your mobile device with your tracker.
  7. To verify that set up was successful, look at the list of Bluetooth-connected devices on your mobile device. Your tracker name should appear.

What are active minutes?

Your Waterproofed Fitbit Charge 2 recognizes and awards active minutes when the activity you're doing is more strenuous than regular walking, which includes everything from a brisk walk to a cardio workout or run. Learn more about active minutes here.

How deep can I take my Waterproofed Fitbit Charge 2?

Your Waterproofed Fitbit Charge 2 can be fully submerged down to 30 feet underwater for an unlimited amount of time.

Are there any special care instructions?

Simply rinse off your Waterproofed Fitbit Charge 2 with fresh water after use in chlorine or salt water, and after activities that cause your wrist to sweat or get wet. Completely dry your wrist and the band before putting the band back on. Clean the band regularly with a mild soap-free cleanser like Cetaphil or Aquanil.

Isn't the Fitbit Charge 2 already waterproof?

Fitbit states that their out of the box non-waterproofed Fitbit Charge 2 "is water resistant, this means the trackers can be submerged and will still work when removed from the water. However, this does not mean the trackers can withstand the force associated with swimming strokes, so we don't recommend swimming with the trackers." This is where we come in.

My Waterproofed Fitbit Charge 2 isn't syncing with my computer, what should I do?

If your tracker's data is not showing up on your dashboard, check the following:

  • Make sure there is new data to sync.
  • Check that your computer is turned on, awake, and has Internet connection.
  • Make sure that your wireless sync dongle is inserted into the USB port and recognized by your computer. Once connected, "USB Dongle Connected" should display.
  • Confirm the Fitbit Connect application is installed and running.
  • Keep your tracker within 15-20 feet of your computer.

If you're still unable to sync, restart your tracker and try syncing again. You may need to reinstall Fitbit Connect. If all else fails, please contact us and we'd be happy to help further.

My Waterproofed Fitbit Charge 2 isn't syncing with my mobile device, what should I do?

If your tracker's data is not showing up on your dashboard, check the following:

  1. Make sure there is new data to sync.
  2. You installed the Fitbit app for Android or iPhone on a supported device. To see the latest list of supported devices, please go to fitbit.com/devices.
  3. Your Android or iOs software is updated to the latest version.
    • For iOs: Tap Settings General Software Update.
    • For Android: Tap Settings About Phone or About Device Android Version.
  4. Bluetooth is enabled in Settings Bluetooth on your iOS device.
  5. Your Android or iOs device is not managing multiple Bluetooth connections at the same time.
  6. You're not trying to sync with multiple mobile devices after enabling call or text notifications.
  7. Your Android device is not in Power Savings Mode. This mode frequently causes the device to disable Bluetooth in order to save power.

If all of the above has been checked and your Charge 2 is still not syncing, make sure your tracker is fully charged and close to your mobile device and try the following:

  1. Turn off Bluetooth on your iOS device and then turn it back on.
  2. Go back to the Fitbit app and try to sync. (To force a sync, tap Account, tap the tracker tile, and tap Sync Now).
  3. If the sync was unsuccessful, force quit the Fitbit app and open it again.
  4. If a sync didn't happen automatically when you reopened the app, reboot your iOS or Android device and then reopen the Fitbit app again.
  5. If a sync still didn't happen automatically, restart your Charge 2 using the instructions in How do I restart my Waterproofed Fitbit Charge 2? below.
  6. If your tracker won't sync after the restart, uninstall and reinstall the Fitbit app before trying to sync one last time.

My Waterproofed Fitbit Charge 2 isn't charging, what should I do?

Try the steps below to help determine the source of the charging issue.

  1. Check the charging contact in the cradle, make sure they are lining up with the contacts on your Charge 2 and are clean of debris.
  2. Try using a different USB port to plug the charging cable into.
  3. Plug the charging cable directly into your computer or wall charger. Avoid using USB hubs.
  4. If your tracker seems frozen or unresponsive, restart your tracker.

How do I restart my Waterproofed Fitbit Charge 2?

Restarting your Waterproofed Fitbit Charge 2 will turn it off and then on, but it will not clear its tracking data.

  1. Plug the charging cable into the USB port of your computer
  2. Clip your Charge 2 band into the cradle of the charging cable
  3. Press and hold the button on your Charge 2 for four seconds until the Fitbit logo appears
